Connor McDonough always had a love for acting and would put on plays for the neighborhood with his two younger brothers, Riley and Toby. In fifth grade, he sang at his school talent show and he and his brothers began writing lyrics. In 2007, Connor and his friends Braiden Wood and Thomas Silvers formed a band they called Before You Exit. Connor was the lead guitarist, while Braiden was on rhythm guitar and Thomas on drums. In 2008, Connor's younger brother Riley joined and sung lead vocals. Toby McDonough, his youngest brother joined Before You Exit on 2012. By this time, Before You Exit became a trio with Thomas and Braiden (and eventually Ryan Wheeler) for live performances. Braiden left the group for a solo career and Ryan Wheeler took his place. Connor came up with the name of the group. He wanted it to be an inspirational name "make a difference, before you exit." They've toured with All Time Low, Allstar Weekends, Action Item, Olly Murs, Cody Simpson, Fifth Harmony, and Christina Grimmie and have released three EPs, A Short Story Long, Letting Go, and I Like That.
