Edmond Gnekow is a musician and writer and a familiar figure on the Buffalo arts scene. He plays double bass with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) and is a member of the baroque chamber ensemble Camerata di Sant' Antonio. He is also a regular performer at the Roycroft Chamber Music Festival in East Aurora, New York. Prior to joining the BPO, he played with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Kansas City Symphony, and the American Bach Soloists. He was the inspiration for the children's book Neko and the Twiggets by author and playwright Donna Hoke, his partner. He also writes on classical music for Buffalo Spree magazine.
