C. W. Johnson, Jr. was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1987 and raised in northern Desoto Parish. He has played several characters on stage, including Tom Sawyer in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Ghost in Hamlet, and Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew. He has also traveled extensively across the globe, including three trips to Germany and four trips to Peru. His short promotional film "Man vs. Civilization: Verity" won first place in a student film competition at Verity Institute in 2011. He has a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in English from Thomas Edison State University of New Jersey. His GPA was 3.7 and he received the Arnold Fletcher Award in Recognition of Outstanding Academic Achievement. He has been the recipient of four Presidential Volunteer Service Awards. He has won first place in the 12-18 age category in Southern Midwest Region of the Letters to the Front Worldwide letter Writing Contest and in Best Short Story National Contest, Junior American Citizens.
