Kevin M. Couto has well over a decade of experience in fiction and non-fiction programming. Formerly a shippie, he traded the high seas in 2008 to follow his true passion: storytelling. Beginning his TV career as an assistant producer at Channel [V], three years later he went on to lead the creative team for Branded Content & IP at Disney UTV. His skill at creating custom-designed content for brands like Dell Inspiron, Tata Docomo, Royal Enfield, Tourism Authority Of Thailand, Blackberry, Nestlé and Schwarzkopf, among many others, made his team one of the most successful in the business. Kevin next moved to fiction programming, as a freelance creative director with a slew of production houses. He has also helmed a season of the critically acclaimed crime anthological series Gumrah (which was credited with spawning the trend of episodic fiction shows among the YEC's on Indian TV) for Balaji Telefilms. He then began directing long-format fiction, and has a reel that includes flagship shows for channels like Sony, Bindass, &TV, Colors, MTV, Discovery Jeet and Channel [V], as well as migrated content that he has written/directed for television on most major digital platforms i.e. Netflix, Hotstar, Zee5, Voot, and SonyLIV. He has also produced an eclectic mix of digital ads, fashion films, cover shoots, corporate AV's, and music videos under his own banner - Full Tilt Films. Writing became a passion along the way, first as a means to infuse the material he was already supervising/directing with his distinctive personal touch, and later to experiment with ideas that seemed worthwhile exploring in and of themselves. A dynamic professional with a genre-bending portfolio that ranges crime, teen angst, romance, horror, dramedy, travelogue, fashion, music and reality television; Kevin is known for his immersive style, keen exploration of characters, dramatic set pieces and exacting attention to detail. His ability to preserve the relatable within the fantastic and vice versa, lends the stories he tells an uncommon mix of lightness and depth.
