Rob Stone is an award-winning harmonica player and singer known for his contemporary approach to traditional Chicago Blues. He got started on his blues odyssey at age 10, when family friend and famed roots music journalist Peter Guralnick first exposed him to the evocative sounds of Blues and Soul music. Stone began his professional career playing in Colorado biker bands while in college and soon moved to Chicago in 1994 at the invitations of legendary blues drummer Sam Lay (of Howlin' Wolf, Bob Dylan, and Paul Butterfield Blues Band fame). Stone left Lay's band to embark on a solo career in 1998. With four critically acclaimed albums under his belt, Stone continues to tour internationally (with frequent trips to Japan). He has performed and recording alongside some of the genre's most celebrated artists including: B.B. King, Etta James, Robert Cray, James Cotton, Jody Williams, Koko Taylor, Hubert Sumlin, Eddie Shaw, John Primer, Jimmy Rogers, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, David Myers, Robert Lockwood Jr., to name only a handful. His most recent commercial release, Gotta Keep Rollin', was named in the Top Blues Albums of 2014, and peaked at #2 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Radio Charts.
