Oscar Martin, born Oscar García Martín in Madrid, is a Spanish-Luxemburgish actor. In recent years, he has acted in films such as Colonia with the likes of Daniel Brühl and Emma Watson, and in Escapada with María León and Sergi López, as well as in 30 coins, an HBO series directed by Álex de la Iglesia. Oscar studied drama at the Conservatoire of Luxemburg. He also holds a Master's degree in translation and interpretation. His experience of living in different countries has allowed him to pursue an acting career performing in Spanish, French, English and Italian. He has studied physical theatre, screen acting, clown work and singing. After his university studies at the Institut Supérieur de Traduction et Interprétation (ISTI) in Brussels, he worked as a translator at the WTO in Geneva, and at the European Commission in Luxemburg. At the same time, he worked for Theatrum, a Spanish-language Luxembourg-based theatre company, as well as in various French-speaking productions in Luxemburg and Switzerland. In 2006, he collaborated with world-renowned theatre director Eugenio Barba in Ur-Hamlet. As a director, among other plays he staged Pirandello's Six characters in search of an author and Viva la Commedia! at the Comédie de Ferney-Voltaire. He also sang opera in Menotti's The telephone with the famous Russian soprano Elena Prokina. He has also worked as a radio presenter, acting teacher and he is a passionate chess player.
