Julio Suarez was born in Girona, 1967. He studied film making and production in ERAM, a specialized school in audiovisuals. It is linked to University of Girona. He is the founder of LGC Films Producer. He is the director of the program "The interview of the month" since 2009. It is a programme broadcast on some televisions and some social networks. It is a programme of audiovisual interviews in which he opted for a cinematographic style, as a sensitive approach towards the viewer. His first steps were exclusively as a reporter and with documentary works, always remaining latent his passion for this last format. The most important work till then, in that sense, is Lolo Rico: La mirada no inventada (The non invented look) (2015). Here, he shows shows the course of the great director of the program The crystal ball with a personalized focus and fleeing from the biopic format. This work had many selections in Festivals and the award to the best documentary in the Oriana Awards in 2016. At the beginning of 2015 he held a direction workshop with the renowned Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami. For ten days they kept a project in common that has left a mark in his life as a filmmaker. Kiarostami's teachings and guidelines were very important for his new route. Works such as El retorn de les ànimes (The retorn of the souls)(2015) and Dins del bosc (Inside the Woods) (2016) are two of the works where you can observe the influence of the Iranian director. In February 2016 he got another important influence for his documentary works: Patricio Guzman. During a week, he received all the guidelines from the prestigious Chilean director useful for future works. This influence can be observed perfectly in this last documentary work Leo to life (2017). Nowadays, he keeps today his relation of the documentary in feature film with short fiction. He is waiting for the time to make his first opera prima in feature film. But, as he says: "everything will come, for now we will continue walking"
