Nikhil Singh Rajputt was born in Chhapra-Bihar and completed his High School in Varanasi and his Secondary School in Ranchi. He prepared for his engineering from Kota-Rajasthan. He graduated from Indian Institute Of Technology [IIT] Delhi with a B.Tech in Textile Technology {2007}. He was an Assistant Director in the Mumbai Film Industry and later attended a Summer Program at the University Of Southern California [USC] Film School {2009}. His debut film was an Indie Bollywood feature 'With Love, Delhi! [2011]' which was released across theaters in India and starred Tom Alter, Seema Biswas, Kiran Kumar. He is also known for his award-winning documentaries. 'Himalayan Refugee [2017]' featuring 'Tarek Fateh' was based on the plight of Pakistani Ahmadi Refugees seeking asylum in Nepal. The film was screened at Docutah International Documentary Film Festival, Tasveer South Asian Film Festival, Chicago South Asian Film Festival, 11th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, Film Southasia, etc... 'Blood Buddhas [2019]' is a documentary film on the reparation of ancient Indian antiquities from across the world and is shot in India, Singapore, the UK, and the US. The film features Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Deborah Lehr, Dominic DiGiovanni, Christopher Marinello, Anuraag Saxena & C.S Rangarajan (Head Priest Chilkur Balaji Temple). The film has been a Runners Up at Chicago South Asian Film Festival and Official Selection at Rochester International Film Festival and has been a crowd-puller at Arth Cultural Festival, Khajuraho Literature Festival, and Mangalore Literature Festival.
