Jonny Mora is an American actor, writer, and musician. He studied Creative Writing in the City College of New York, and his poem "I thought I Was Special" was recognized in the CUNY Poetry In Performance: 2020 Edition. He was born in Brooklyn and raised both in New York and Puerto Rico. Jonathan comes from Colombian, Puerto Rican, and Taino native descent, and proudly incorporates Bilingual code-switching in some of his writing. Writers that inspired him include Gabriel Garcia Marquez, John Leguizamo, Lin- Manuel Miranda, and Virginia Woolf. The first time Jonathan stepped on-set was at the age of 12 as an extra on Princess Protection Program when they filmed in Puerto Rico. 10 years later, after freelancing as a production assistant and being an extra in New York, Jonathan earned his membership in SAG-AFTRA for his first co-star credit on the CBS Pilot, Murder in 2018. He was even screen-tested and considered to play the lead in the film Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark in 2019. Jonathan was also an Access2Action intern on Gotham Season Five. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Jonathan has volunteered in the Carnegie Hall NeOn Arts Program, and Free Verse as a writer and performer, using Zoom as "virtual theatre". His plays and performances were recognized as confident, deliberate, precise, and "provokes his audience to question".
