Ricky Powell

Ricky Powell was born in Croydon, London UK, to Shirley Townsend and Dennis Powell a Vehicle Mechanic. He is the Eldest of five children. Ricky left school and did an apprenticeship in painting and decorating for 6 yrs before joining the ambulance service in 1985 and becoming one of the first paramedics. He didn't start acting /singing until 2009 when he accidental became casted in the wizard of oz (a pantomime version directed by one of he's work colleagues but later to become he's best friend Clive Stanton. After this first taste of treading the boards. He was asked if he would like to be in the following year's production which was a version of Calamity Jane where he played several characters including a dancing bear and a peace loving Red Indian chief. During this time the players who all worked for either the ambulance service or were nurses and Gp receptionists set them selves up as the Accidental Players and Ricky designed their website and ran their social media blogs. This lasted for two years but there are plans for the accidental players to reform and do another show in the future. Ricky 's next taste of show business came in early 2013 when whilst off work following an illness he went to see a friend of his from calamity Jane do a rehearsal in the Disney version of beauty and the beast which was being put on by the leatherhead operatic society. He stayed with this company until late 2015 and helped design and run their website & social media as well as appear 2 old time music hall shows and other shows, he has also worked with three other companies at the same time and he's taste for acting and singing has increased.
