George Julius Williams GJW is an accomplished stage and film artiste who has acted in several plays and short films. He has also done TV commercials and radio voice-overs. Trained as an actor at the prestigious National School of Drama in India, he has written, directed, produced and acted in numerous stage productions in Asia, Middle-East and Europe. His has also acted in many short films in various languages and directed some documentaries. He was one of the founder members of the rejuvenated Doha Players Theatre and was associated with them for over two decades. The first documentary Against All Odds based on the Qatar local municipal elections was written and directed by him. He has been a regular actor with Doha Film Institute (DFI) since its inception in 2010 and has acted in several commercials and short films produced by them. GJW successfully auditioned for the Hollywood movie Black Gold and was the acting coach for Finding Faith which was nominated for the Cannes Film Festival 2012 in the short film category. A North Western University - Qatar (NU-Q) funded short film 100 Steps in which he played a lead role was nominated for the Student Oscars Academy Awards 2016. He has acted in the multi-star cast TV serial Medinah and has been tentatively signed in 2018 to act as the main villain in a Bollywood blockbuster.
