Maksim Tchoubine Kuzin was born in Valencia, Spain. Son of Russian immigrants, Kuzin started making short films at the age of 10, and quickly became fond of meaningful films. Throughout his adolescence, his interest for film fluctuated with philosophy, sociology, psychology and history. After graduating from a British boarding school, Kuzin moved to Chicago and started attending Columbia College to form himself as a film director.
