Romario Solis was born on October 12, 1994, in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico. He is the son of Maria T. Castro, a teacher and Luis Roberto Solis, an architect. He has an older brother, Luis Roberto Solis Jr. He was raised in Mexico until the age of seven, then moved to Houston, Texas with his father and brother to join his mother. At Atascocita High School, Solis practiced many sports, focusing mainly on soccer and track and field. It wasn't until after high school, after having dropped out of college, that he found his passion for film. Living in Miami, Florida, his roommate, a student filmmaker, asked him as a favor to play a small role in his thesis short film. Having found his calling, he moved back to Houston in 2015. That same year he joined his first acting class and within four classes, he auditioned for a lead role. His performance in Orphan Train earned him the best actor award at NIFF Houston International Film Festival in 2016.
