Jacob Dudman was raised in a small town by the Yorkshire Dales of England, alongside two younger sisters and their parents - both primary school headteachers. In school, Dudman favoured sciences and never studied Drama. However, a childhood full of home-made movies culminated in a successful YouTube channel of comedy sketches and impressions, amassing an online viewership of over 6.8 million. Whilst studying Film Production at the University of the Arts in London, Dudman began producing content for the likes of BBC Worldwide and Lionsgate at the age of 18. During his first year, Dudman released his short film 'Save The Rhino Vietnam' - a documentary co-starring Paul Blackthorne investigating the Rhino poaching crisis. WWF called it "Heartwarming", while acclaimed film maker Eric Goode said "People need to watch this". Between this and lectures, he continued with voice acting and landed a role as the titular character in 'Doctor Who' for the audio range. To understand acting from a director's point of view, he attended some introductory acting classes and quickly fell in love with the craft (he continued to study under the same teacher for 4 years). In early 2018 (aged 20) Dudman signed with an agent and quickly landed his first television role as the male lead of BBC teen drama The A List (Kindle Entertainment/Lionsgate). He has since starred in multiple TV series for the likes of Netflix, HBO and Adult Swim, and continues to be active in the industry today.
