Ion Indolean born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He started as a film critic, being an editor and managing editor on the students' online platform EliberArt.ro, where he afterwards advanced to the position of coordinator-editor. He subsequently worked for the online magazine of the media project FilmSense.eu, that he also came to be in charge of together with Lucian Maier and Marius M. Bogdan. During this entire time his texts have been taken by the established online platform, LiterNet.ro. For all these media virtual media platforms, he wrote film and some theatre reviews, had discussions, conducted written or filmed interviews with artists from the world of film and theatre. Then, he started a long term collaboration with the nationally distributed weekly literary magazine Observator Cultural, for which he still writes. In academic environment he also wrote several articles published in international magazines. In the meantime, he started to be involved in filmmaking. In 2015, he directed with his university colleagues Adrian Cârlugea and Bogdan Coste the short experimental Girl Eating Pizza. Then, he directed his first feature, Discordia (2016).
