Maurice Nuiten (1990) Visual Artist Born in Roosendaal. He lives and work in Breda / -s'Hertogenbosch He works with lens based-media, performance, installation and text. After successfully graduated in 2010 as a graphic designer he started at the art academy AKV / St.Joost in Breda in the same year. After three years he decided to continue his study at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. He did follow the Bachelor course Fine Art : Photography where he did graduate with Honors in 2015 and got nominated for the Drempelprijs by the municipality of Rotterdam, with his graduation project: "Dad, Mom, can I live in the clouds?". The same project got nominated for the "young talent award" by Lease-plan and was displayed at the Affordable Art Fair in Amsterdam. At the same time he won the Audience Award by Galerie Pouloeuff with my photographic work "I'm the director of reality". In 2016 He got nominated for the Foederer Young Talent award. At the moment he studies at the Master of Fine arts program of AKV / St.Joost. Beside my study he also started a platform WKNDX: within Electron Breda where he provide weekend exhibitions for young talents. Within his study he focus on his artistic practice and curating/organizing exhibitions. At the moment Gallery Mooi-Man based in Groningen is representing his work. His is often called a rising star, in the contemporary art scene.
