Antonin De Bemels

Antonin De Bemels was born in Brussels. Since 1997 he directed several experimental videos which were presented at various international festivals worldwide. He received significant interest for his groundbreaking experimentations in dance film, which resulted in several articles in specialized litterature (see bibliography below) and the release of a DVD compilation. After experimenting with the crossing of celluloid and digital image-making ("Scrub solo series", 1999-2001), De Bemels's work is now very much concerned with the medium of video. He also extended his practice to diverse media including drawing, sculpture and electronic music. In recent years he mostly developed video installation / mixed-media sculptures projects like "Technique de la schizophrénie" or "Autoscopy for dummies".
