Nielvis Martinez Otaño was born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba to father Raul Martinez and mother Aracelys Otaño. Her family came to the United States when she was 3 years old. Nielvis is one of four sisters, all who have pursued performing or visual arts at some point in their life. She began her acting and modeling career when she was 11 at the John Robert Powers school for acting and modeling in Albuquerque, NM. She moved to Texas at 14 where she modeled for local boutiques and did print and catalog work. When she was 17 she moved to Charleston, South Carolina and furthered her career by gaining lead roles in various plays, short film "The Last Drop," and appearing in Alice & I's music video, "In the Rough."
