Yusuf Muldrow was born in Houston, Texas in 2000. He began his martial arts journey at the age of 9 at North Channel Martial Arts, under Master Ordonio Lee, where he received his purple belt rank in 2011. During this time, he competed in the Texas Amature Organization of Karate (AOK) circuit. From 2010 to 2013, Yusuf was the recipient of dozens of first place titles in kata demonstrations and sparring in sport karate tournaments across Texas as well as being a three time AOK state championships qualifier. The leagues Yusuf has been recognized in within Texas includes the AOK, SKIL, and TKO. In mid 2013, Yusuf left North Channel Martial Arts to advance his martial arts career at Kim Soo Karate, Home of the International Chayon-Ryu Martial Arts Association, founded by Kim Pyung-soo. After six months at Kim Soo Karate, Yusuf attained his yellow belt, the third rank in the Chayon-Ryu martial art system. Near the end of 2013, Yusuf left Kim Soo Karate to go to Bushiban International Headquarters, under honorable Grandmaster Zulfi Ahmed, and repossessed his purple belt rank. In early 2014, Yusuf competed at the Lone Star Open World Karate Championships, his first ever North American Sports Karate Association (NASKA) tournament where he placed 1st for sparring. Near the end of 2014, Yusuf was awarded his black belt rank at Bushiban International Headquarters. Throughout 2015, Yusuf and his father Yahya Muldrow, traveled to various states in the US to attend NASKA events. In January of 2016, Yusuf was awarded the NASKA World Top Ten title for 14-15 year old boys sparring of 2015 at the annual NASKA banquet. While Yusuf grew as a martial artist, he also took on the sport of tricking. Through his 100k follower Instagram account, Yusuf spreads the sport of tricking through his 1-minute "insta samplers." Yusuf is also the owner of the Yusuf Muldrow YouTube account where he uploads his demo reels, sports karate footage, travels, and seasonal tricking progression. Yusuf is a senior at Furr Highschool in Houston, Texas and is also the Ninja Warrior coach at All-Star Revolution (ASR) in Webster, Texas. Every Sunday at ASR from 11 am to 1 pm, Yusuf hosts $10 open gym training sessions for trickers to train with him and progress in their tricking abilities.
