Kasper Nelson dreamed of being a comedian from the start. A family and class clown, he grew up in his hometown of Knoxville, TN., in the Greenhills Housing Projects. Listening to Richard Pryor, Moms Mabley, Pigmeat Markham, Red Skelton, Bill Cosby, and Redd Foxx albums and watching Flip Wilson on television; and inspired by their comedic styles, he'd perform routines for family members. At the young age of 9, Kasper would tell jokes during lunchtime to his schoolmates at Sarah Moore Greene Elementary School. By age 14, Kasper had developed his own routine and was a working comic. At age 16, Kasper, armed with a permission slip from his mother, became a regular on open-mic nights at the famous Funny Bone Comedy Club in Knoxville TN. Before leaving home he co-headlined concerts, hosted practically every local talent event; as well as openings for the late greats Roger Troutman & Zapp. At the end of high school, he was already a veteran at getting laughs. Seeking more opportunities he relocated to Atlanta, GA. Slaying 7 years of open-mic nights earned Kasper the respect of comedian Earthquake who booked him at both of his Uptown Comedy Corner clubs in Atlanta, GA., and soon, Kasper as his opening act on tour. While on tour Kasper caught the attention of one of the Kings of Comedy, DL Hugely, who also booked him as an opening act. Kasper was enjoying success opening for Chris Tucker, Paul Mooney, Cedric the Entertainer, Don "DC" Curry, Jonathan Witherspoon, Monique, and Sommore, among others. In 1997, Kasper won the Canadian Mist Comedy Competition, as well as advanced to the semi-finals at the Oakland Bay Area Comedy Competition taking second place to none other than Nick Cannon. Executives viewing Kasper's comedic styles were still laughing when they offered Kasper his first gig before a national audience, realizing his dream of being a comic on T.V... An unforgettable brand of storytelling made Kasper an instant fan favorite all over America earning him a 30-minute Grandstand on BET's Comic View. Appearing every season, his signature Blonde Beard and Mustache made Kasper one of the most recognizable comics of that time. When it seems that he has done it all, Kasper added to his resume by writing, producing, and directing as well as Kasper Nelson co-starring roles on Hawaii Five-O & S.W.A.T. Kasper's Kouch, a show that he produced and starred in, was a public access project with a Jay Leno style. He hosted, acted in skits, and interviewed guests along with his puppet sidekick Kissy Love Snuggles. To follow, Kasper produced, wrote, and acted in Kasper's Raw Stand-Up featuring a variety of both new and established comedians, actors, and musicians. The performances were uncensored and raw, to say the least. Notably, Kasper launched his own production company, Vision in the Clouds Entertainment, a place to create and produce his Animation ideas, Movies, Magic Shows, and other Family Entertainment. There are only great things ahead for this new and refreshing Brand. Whether it is performing for sold-out audiences or working behind the scenes, Kasper's skill set will continue to bring joy to millions of people from all walks of life.
