Rene Laurent Vuillermoz

René-Laurent Vuillermoz was born on 26 October 1977 in Aosta, Aosta Valley, Italy. He is a retired biathlete. His first year in biathlon was 2000. Vuillermoz participated in three Winter Olympic Games during his career - in 2002 in Salt Lake City, 2006 in Turin and 2010 in Vancouver. His best result from all of the Games was 8th place with the Italian relay in 2006. As for his personal results, in 2002 he started only in one event - the 20 km Individual and finished 72nd. In 2006 in Turin, Vuillermoz competed in all events and placed 25th in the Individual, 39th in the sprint, 13th in the pursuit and 25th in the mass start. In Vancouver in 2010, he appeared only in one event - the Individual and ended up at 54th position. He competed in World Championships from 2003 until 2012. His best achievements were with the relay team. Vuillermoz finished 4th in 2007 in Antholz-Anterselva, 5th in Khanty-Mansyisk in 2011 and 7th in Pyeongchang in 2009. His best individual result was 9th in the 10 km sprint at the 2007 World Championships in Antholz-Anterselva. René-Laurent Vuillermoz achieved 2 individual podiums in the World Cup during his career. He was twice 3rd in sprint events in 2004-2005 in Ruhpolding and in 2006-2007 in Oberhof. He was once 5th in the pursuit in Kontiolahti in 2005-2006, 7th in the Individual in Hochfilzen in 2005-2006, twice 8th in the pursuit and mass start and 9th in the sprint in Antholz-Anterselva during the 2006-2007 season. His best overall finish is 27th in the 2005-2006. Announced his retirement in 2012. Vuillermoz is married to the retired French biathlete Sylvie Becaert.
