Phillip McNair was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, to Jessie M Hilton-Bey and Brian T McNair Sr along with his two brothers Brian McNair Jr and Joshua McNair. With his mom being a liturgical dancer and dad being a lead singer, he was no stranger to the arts. Since the age of 4 he has been reciting lines in church plays as well as singing on the choir. At the age of 8 he was introduced to percussion by his older brother which lead him to follow in his footsteps for the next 4 years. During this period is when he made the decision to pursue acting but alas was disappointed by school restrictions. At the age of 12 he was moved into chorus, starting his interest for singing like his father. At the age of 14 he attended his first acting class at Randallstown High School and the following year he had attended his first school play of "Romeo & Juliet" (Directed by Courtney Yates) followed by the Spring showing of "A Raisin in The Sun" (Directed by Marc M. Stevens) and was blown away. At age 16 he joined the drama club and got his first taste of theatre, cast in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" as Theseus followed by the Spring production of Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" as Giles Ralston (both directed by Courtney Yates.) He continued the following year, becoming Vice President of the club, as well as being starred in "Much Ado About Nothing" as Claudio and "Leading Ladies" as Duncan. From there Phillip enrolled into the New York Film Academy in Lower Manhattan officially pursuing his acting career. Later on to move to Los Angeles to finish out his college career at age 21 with his Bachelor's Degree in Acting for Film. From there on he's done multiple productions, both film and theatre, in Los Angeles and continues to pursue his dream.
