Andrejs Rastorgujevs 27 May 1988, Aluksne, Latvia. He is a professional biathlete. His first year in biathlon was 1998 and he made his World Cup debut on 5 December 2009. Rastorgujevs is one of the fastest skier in the World Cup. However he is one of the biathletes with the lowest percentage success in the shooting, especially from the standing position. In 2009-2010 it was 62%. Since 2011-2012 statistics show a better performance - 84% from the prone position and 81% from the standing position, combined makes an 82% success. So far Rastorgujevs participated in two Winter Olympic Games in 2010 in Vancouver and in 2014 in Sochi. In 2010 he finished 50th in the sprint, 58th in the pursuit and 19th in the relay. 4 years later he placed 33rd in the Individual, 17th in the sprint, 9th in the pursuit and 14th in the mass start. Rastorgujevs competed in three World Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013. His best finish was with the relay at number 14th. In the other disciplines from all World Championships, he finished out of the Top 30. Since 2007, Rastorgujevs has been competing at the European Championships. He won 2 medals in 2014 in Nove Mesto - a gold in the Individual and a bronze in the sprint. During the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons, Andrejs Rastorgujevs achieved 11 times finishes in the Top 10. He was 4th twice in the Individual in Sochi and the pursuit in Oberhof. Once 5th in the sprint in Holmenkollen, 6th in the pursuit in Kontiolahti and 7th in the mass start in Holmenkollen. Also 4 times 9th in the sprint in Sochi and the pursuits in Pokljuka and Sochi. Finally he finished 10th twice in the sprint in Oslo and the pursuit in Pokljuka. Rastorgujevs's best overall finish is 16th in 2013-2014. He finished 20th in 2015-2016.
