Austin Phalin was born in Northern Wisconsin, to American born Damon Phalin and Apryl Rickert. His father works in Medical Sales and his mother a Social Worker. His parents divorced when he was 3 years old. At 18, he enrolled at University of Wisconsin-Marathons Theatre Program. There he went through Acting Training under the tutelage of the Theatre Programs Director, Dr.Sarah Rudolph. He performed in Classical and Contemporary Plays by Ibsen, Shakespeare and Tennessee Williams. He received a Theatre Award and Scholarship for Theatre Excellence. After 2 years of studying he opted out of going to a four year school and instead moved to Los Angeles to study at Playhouse West, a private Acting School founded by Sanford Meisner. After two years of studying Acting Technique he branched off and took the schools Improv Program Directed by Jim Nieb. After 1 year of Improv, Austin was signed by his Manager and Agent. He booked his first role as the lead in a National Commercial for State Farm. Shortly after he booked a Guest Star Role on award winning TV Show, American Crime Story: Versace.
