Jesús Feliciano was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He got into movies at an early age and not only proved to be an avid viewer of them, but also occupied himself writing screenplays for the duration of his childhood and young adolescence. Later on, he directed his first three short films, learning experiences that reinforced his love for the art. Also around this time, Jesús received a special sponsorship from Puerto Rico's Film Commission, partaking in a summer-long film workshop with Puerto Rican filmmakers Carla Cavina and Víctor González. Jesús was awarded a BFA in Film and Television Production at the University of Puerto Rico (Río Piedras Campus), a degree complemented with online classes from UCLA. The up-and-coming filmmaker continued to produce shorts, founded a student-run theatre production company, and always strove to assume an auto-didactic attitude with readings and personal projects. He relocated to Chicago to pursue a MFA in Cinema with Directing Concentration at the nationally-renowned DePaul University. There, he was able to broaden his film production education as well as get hands-on training on the craft of moviemaking. During his freshman tenure in the program, he wrote and produced a short film entitled "Jess", accepted into the Chicago International Reel Shorts Film Festival, one of the most important festivals for shorts in the US. Jesús recently completed his MFA Thesis short film, which is in the midst of its festival run, and currently freelances as a Videographer back home in Puerto Rico. His next goal? Directing his first feature-length project.
