Stephen McConnachie was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1981. Raised by his mother, Janette Skinner, child protection worker, and also an author and songwriter. From very early on in life Stephen had a passion for storytelling and writing poetry, he was diagnosed with classic dyslexia at the age of seven which meant serious problems in reading spelling and sequential cognition but this did not deter him. One of his earliest short stories was called "Hitler is a golf ball" which won him some accolade at a local writing competition. One of his first poems was a delightful piece about a flying horse. At the age of ten Stephen moved from Scotland to the south of England with his mother and two brothers. This was a major transition for the family, but Stephen was given every encouragement and excelled at drama classes, and continued to write stories. At the age of 21 Stephen moved to Spain, where he met his wife Lorena Pallares. Stephen lives a simple disciplined life, meditates daily and is a practitioner in Brazilian jiu jitsu, he is also a cannabis evangelists.
