Ben Cahan has been developing software for the Motion Picture and Television industries for over 30 years, beginning with production scheduling and budgeting software in the 1980s and then creating and co-founding screenwriting software Final Draft in the early 90s, serving as its CEO for the following eight years. In the 25 years since its release, Final Draft has become the dominant scripting software used throughout Hollywood and around the world to pen the vast majority of movies and television shows produced. In 2010, he turned to script development via his only screenwriting community, Talentville.com. Combining an online script library with a peer review feedback system, he has worked with talented unknowns to develop and subsequently promote their film and television projects, with an eye to discovering scripts that otherwise might never be considered.
