Vanessa Kjeldsen began her acting career as Glynda in The Wizard of Oz at Center Stage in Austin, TX, at age five. From there, she was cast in roles ranging from Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast to the witch in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. She later segued into film and PSA work including Angels Sing, directed by Tim McCanlies,and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Vanessa has continued her training through local luminaries including Donise Hardy, Mona Lee Fultz, Toni Cobb Brock and Sally Allen, and Beth Sepko, as well as having studied in Zach Scott Theatre's Pre-Professional Triple Threat program. Vanessa Kjeldsen loves all things fashion and beauty, says there can never be too much glitter, and is a self-professed cat lady. Vanessa is a regular in two Austin, Texas-based web TV series, Keepin' It Weird TV and Forward. Her ability to play a wide range of characters, from demure to sassy, morose to upbeat, has allowed her to feel at home in a diversity of roles. Known for her quick wit, great sense of comedic timing, and ability to improv, she's fun to be around on and off the set. Vanessa studies voice and dance, and has been selected for her high school musical theater program. Additionally, she is a state semi-finalist in speech, has an A average in an accelerated curriculum, and films and produces video for the local animal shelter to place dogs and cats in forever homes.
