José Pedro Pinto

With studies in Cinema and Classical Guitar, his works combine the classical sound with the freedom of modern rhythms and harmonies. In 2016, during his Cinema studies, he began writing original soundtracks for his colleagues' movies - culminating in "Um Refúgio Azul" (2017) by João Lourenço, which won the 2017 Fantasporto - Porto International Film Festival award for Best Portuguese Film. In 2021, his album Misericórdia ("Mercy") for pipe organ, was the basis for Gonçalo Loureiro's movie with the same name. The movie also won the 2022 Fantasporto - Porto International Film Festival award for Best Portuguese Film.
