Amy was born on August 17, 1988 in Columbia, South Carolina. She moved to Atlanta with her family when she was 8 years old. As a child, her greatest dream was to be a film actress. She wrote and directed her own scripts and recruited her family members to be her cast and crew. She studied theatre throughout high school, but in her senior year, she felt pressured by family to go to college and pursue a more stable career. Amy began studying nursing at a small community college, but dropped out after three months due to the fact that she couldn't look when a needle was inserted into her arm for blood withdrawal. In December of 2007, she married her husband, Joshua. Together, they have two daughters (born 2010 and 2011) whom Amy chose to stay at home to raise exclusively for their first few years. Once her daughters were attending preschool and kindergarten on a regular basis, Amy's passion for acting resurfaced. In 2016, with the support of her family and friends, she returned to the art, beginning her studies at the Professional Actor's Studio in Atlanta, Georgia. She also returned to the stage as a grown Jean Louise "Scout" Finch in Christopher Segel's adaptation of "To Kill A Mockingbird". She made her second stage appearance shortly after, starring as Penny Sycamore in "You Can't Take It With You". She also appeared in her first film role as Elmira Dalton in "Did You Hear About The Daltons?" (2016).
