Andy Darrel Gomes is a director, writer, actor and educator in film and theatre. A graduate in English Linguistics & Performing Arts from Universiti Putra Malaysia, some of his stage works include "Tiga" supported by Five Arts Centre and various productions under Project Spect-Actor, a Theatre of the Oppressed movement he started for Malaysian youths. An alumnus of the Next New Wave, a filmmaking program under renowned Southeast-Asian practitioners, his works were screened at film festivals in the USA, India and Pakistan. "My Ba's Radio" which won the Grand Prize at Panasonic Digital Short Film Competition was screened at Short Shorts Film Festival in Japan. "Hawa" which he co-wrote won best script and the grand prize at BMW Shorties. As an actor, he appeared in Chiu Keng Guan's "Ola Bola", Woo Ming Jin's "Okinawa" and Edmund Yeo's "Aqerat".
