Louis Holder is an independent filmmaker based in London. He has been an active filmmaker since 2007, and has worked on a number of short films and documentaries which have garnered relative successes at both regional and international film festivals. His director-producer influences include various new-wave indie auteurs like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, John Hughes, Sofia Coppola and Richard Linklater. He is inspired greatly by productions with rigorous planning involved, strong aesthetics and stories which derive from or delve into human connections, experiences and domestic life. In addition to filmmaking, Louis is also known for being a well-established part of school and college life, being involved in the startup, management and publicity of numerous clubs and societies, and being an active social commentator and art-in-education activist. At High School, Louis founded and ran the award-winning production company and news-gathering service Twyford News, between 2009 and 2014, at his secondary school Twyford CE High School. The company delivered and marketed video coverage of large-scale events, such as drama productions, local festivals and multi-camera entertainment shows for the school and in later years, the borough of Ealing. He was also Editor-In-Chief of Twyford's termly high-brow magazine 'The Twyfordian' for it's pilot year before becoming it's Senior Photographer & Film Editor in it's second and third years. In 2012, one of his short film's, Shadows of Light, qualified to Official Selection status at The Bedford Park Film Festival (BPF). In 2013, Louis was accepted into the BFI Film Academy - delivered by Eastside Educational Trust, a film course run by industry experts, developing the next generation of film industry talent. Louis was mentored by award-winning filmmaker and documentarian Caroline Bacle and visual artist Emily Bailey, his production team produced 'Half Minded', a short film which culminated in it's recognition amongst NFTS (National Film & Television School) submissions that term. In Early 2016, he began development on his feature directional debut 'One Night More' with Principal Photography that commenced in Summer 2016. He is currently studying Film at University of Westminster and producing various films with his colleagues there including Party Animal (2017), Moonflower (2017) and Desire (2017), the latter of which is being shot on 16mm.
