Onome Egba

Onome Collins Egba was born on the 20th of August in Lagos, Nigeria where he has also lived for most of his life. He's a writer/director and animator, who recently earned a nomination at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. Growing up, he had always been a strong lover of art. Even though he wasn't the best in drawing, his passion for telling stories led him to creating multiple comic books of various genres. His passion for film came after watching an animated film and being amazed at how the filmmakers generated empathy for characters that never really existed and thus decided to learn more about the craft. He started out working as a visual effects supervisor on other minor projects before directing his first short film - The Cafe or the Kettle (2016), which premiered at the NollyFest Film Festival in UK. He went on to direct his debut animated short 'Pull (2016)' in the same year, which premiered at the prestigious Africa International Film Festival and was also nominated in the best animation category. Since then, the film has screened at the Realtime Film Festival and Abuja International FIlm Festival.
