Graham Bell was born in London. He was an actor who appeared in rep in Oxford, Newcastle and Stratford East. His TV credits include Dr Finlay's Casebook, Compact (1965), and Tales of the Unexpected (1980 and 1984). However, he is fondly remembered in the East of England as an Anglia TV announcer from 1966, and as co-host of the nightly news magazine program About Anglia from 1969, a job which he held for 18 years. He was one of Anglia's longest-serving presenters. He fronted many other programs for Anglia, including Portrait of a Village and Miss Anglia, as well as religious programs and documentaries. In the late-1980s Anglia's news operations were revamped, and in 1988 Graham switched back to continuity announcing, voice-overs for a regional Crimestoppers program, and as host of a regular birthday greetings slot. He was married to actress Suzanne Vasey. Graham died in 1997 aged 56, after a career spanning four decades with Anglia Television.
