Jack Black

“I would only like to be in movies that I would like to see. I consider myself an entertainment arsenal. I have my actor's bazooka and my musical machete. And you don't know what I'm going to come at you with.” Comedic, audacious and unafraid of ridicule, Jack Black is one of the great referents of comedy in American cinema in recent years. As a child, he faced difficulties adapting to traditional education, so his parents sent him to an alternative institution where he excelled and discovered his passion for drama. He continued his studies at the University of California at Los Angeles and joined The Actor's Gang, an acting group. At this period he also met Kyle Gass, who became his musical partner in the rock band Tenacious D, which gained relevance over the years and won in 2015 the Grammy for Best Metal Performance. In film, his predilection for comedy was evident from his first appearances. After a few supporting roles, he gained international recognition thanks to High Fidelity. Music-related roles particularly caught his attention, and a few years later he starred in the iconic School of Rock. In 2005, he achieved blockbuster star status when he was cast in Peter Jackson's King Kong. He continued to reap success and the public's affection, even dabbling in dubbing animated characters, producing and composing songs for soundtracks.
