Ludek Bogner

Ludek Bogner is a passionate Film Maker, avid Photographer and aspiring painter incorporating one common factor in all his art forms, light. It is the study of illumination and its natural ability to constantly change a setting that fuels his desire and perpetuates his hunt. He has dedicated his life following, observing, capturing and transferring natures own battle of light vs dark to film and canvass. This play of opposites in turn is the catalyst for his spectacular imagery documenting moments, people and places in time. Born in the former Czechoslovakia, raised under communist rule is where his story and passion for Cinematography was born. Self taught at a young age with his fathers 1920 Voigtlander camera was the start of his journey that led to a successful career spanning 4 decades and numerous continents. 22 Feature films, 17 Television series and a 70 mm 3D film make up his professional credits. But it is the thousands of photo's and countless hours of personal footage that complete his overall body of work. Ludek's continuing focus is to keep studying light and its magic. "It changes constantly and creates such beauty! This force of nature crosses over to the world of make believe and provides a wonderful challenge for me to reproduce and mimic in the artificial world of movie making."
