Thomas Bourguignon is the producer of the TV series Baron noir broadcasted on Canal+. During his studies (Sciences Po Paris, 1991 ; masters degree in cinema, La Sorbonne, 1992), Thomas Bourguignon published his first articles in the cinema magazine Positif whose he joined the redaction comity next to Michel Ciment in 1993. He dedicated interviews and articles to American and Asiatic cinemas (Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Tim Burton, Cohen Brothers, Akira Kurosawa, Edward Yang...). He participated to several publications about cinema : Paris-Rome: 50 ans de cinéma franco-italien (Ed. de la Marinière, 1995), Kieslowski (Études cinématographiques, 1997), L'Amour du cinéma (Folio, 2002). In 1993, Gilles Jacob asked him to join his selection committee for the Cannes Film Festival. He worked for five years by his sides to select films for the sections "In Competition" and "Un Certain regard". In 2009, Thomas Bourguignon wrote and directed Words of Love with Michel Vuillermoz and Clotilde Courau, film which was selected at the Montreal Film Festival, the FIPA and the Banf Film Festival. He also wrote with Olivier Gorce, in 2010, Natural Selection, with Sam Karmann and Frédéric Diefenthal. After working at M6 for 3 years, Thomas Bourguignon became producer at Alyzés Films in 1997 (Peur Blanche; Une femme piégée with Marion Cotillard, 2001). In 2009, he set up BB Films with Patrick Benedek and produced a lot of TV series and mini-series (Elodie Bradford, Les Tricheurs...) In 2007, he set up his own production company, Kwaï, which became part of FremantleMedia Group in 2015, and produced TV series Baron noir (2016) for Canal+, Kim Kong (2017) and Il Miracolo (in coproduction with Wildside) for Arte. In 2017, Kwaï was elected best French TV producer of the year.
