Diane Brewster was born on March 11, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was largely a character actress in both motion pictures and television. She was 24 years old when she began acting on TV. Her first role was in a few episodes of the westerns Cheyenne (1955) and Zane Grey Theatre (1956). Her first motion picture roles was as Sylvia Quentin in Pharaoh's Curse (1957) in 1956. However, most older viewers remember her as the attractive grade school teacher Miss Canfield on the popular TV comedy series Leave It to Beaver (1957). While her last big screen appearance was as Kate Lawrence in The Young Philadelphians (1959) in 1959, Diane made one more TV appearance on Family Affair (1966) in 1966. Afterwards, Diane retired from the camera. Diane died of heart failure on November 12, 1991. She was 60 years old.
