Jay Butler

Jay Butler, a 62 year radio personality veteran of Detroit radio can be heard on 101.9fm WDET. He started at the age of 15 in his home town of Jackson, TN at WJAK. He also worked at WVOL in Nashville, TN before moving to Detroit and working at WCHB and WJLB where he was Program Director taking the station from #14 to #2 in Detroit. He also worked for Atlantic Records, United Artist, Playboy records and Whitfield records. Jay Butler's voice can be heard in the movie "Car Wash" starring Richard Pryor as the opening DJ. In 1982 Jay would return to the airwaves of Detroit at WQBH with Martha Jean "The Queen." Jay Butler has received many awards and proclamations during his 62 years in radio.
