Carolyn began her career as an agent in training at television packaging agency Camden Artists, then joined Susan Smith and Associates Where she became a Jr. Agent. After two years, Carolyn moved to Walt Disney Studios as an Assistant to the Director of Development. Carolyn then worked as Director of Development with television and film producer Tony Ganz, where she focused on tracking and developing commercial material. Carolyn moved on to work with prolific Latino Producer Moctesuma Esparza and Robert Katz at Esparza/Katz Productions, where she was promoted as Director of Development within 6 months of working there. She eventually became VP of Creative Affairs & Production. She was the Production Executive on all of the TNT Films, Gettysburg (1992), Teddy Roosevelt and The Roughriders, Cisco Kid (1994), Avenging Angel (1995), The Dorothy Dandridge Story, etc. She went on to Co- Produce a few films with Esparza/Katz, The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca and Selena. She spent ten years at Esparza/Katz Prods. Carolyn Caldera and Jean-Luc De Fanti teamed up in 1999 to form Caldera/De Fanti Entertainment a successful management and production company with an eye to further advance multicultural participation in Film/Television and Music. They represented only clients of diversity. Predominately Latino. After successfully helping to build careers for many Latino writers/actors and international directors she took some time off to produce a film in Europe with French Director Mathias Ledoux, "Three Blind Mice" Carolyn Caldera-De Fanti is currently partnered with Moctesuma Esparza at Esparza/Caldera Entertainment as of September 2014. Moctesuma and Carolyn are currently developing several projects: Sci Fi project -"ORDEAL" with Columbian born writer/director team The Orozco Brothers, slated to shoot in Spring/Summer of 2016. "Aztec", a project (a la Game of Thrones) based on a book by Gary Jennings, (currently in discussions with 2 buyers for a Series) Family Film Project, "Paloma Padilla" based on the children's book written by Martin Bencomo, Personal: Carolyn is married to Film Financier Jean-Luc De Fanti. They have a daughter Nathalie. Carolyn is bilingual in Spanish. Speaks a little French. Carolyn is an active board member of The Hollywood Literary Retreat.
