In 1990, he signed a contract with NBC to star in the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990-1996), in which he played a fictionalized version of himself. Following the sitcom's success, he began his transition from television to film, achieving recognition with films such as Bad Boys (1995), Independence Day (1996), Men in Black (1997) and Enemy of the State (1998). Throughout his career, he has demonstrated his ability to act in a variety of genres, from comedy and action to drama. Will Smith has appeared in a wide range of films, from I, Robot (2004) and Hancock (2008) to the iconic I Am Legend (2007). He also participated in Suicide Squad (2016), and played the Genie in the Aladdin movie (2019). His talent was recognized with Oscar nominations, the first for his interpretation of Muhammad Ali in the film Ali (2001) and the second for The Pursuit of Happyness (2006). He won the statuette in 2022 for his interpretation of Richard Williams in King Richard (2021). He also received the BAFTA, the Golden Globe and the Screen Actors Guild Award for best actor.
