"In this business a lot of people go crazy, eccentric, even end up dead because of it. It's not my plan." The iconic American actress had her beginnings in modeling and low-budget productions, but it was not until mid-1994 that she began the consolidation of her career with Pulp Fiction (1994), one of the highest grossing and cult films. With this film she became the favorite actress of director Quentin Tarantino, who chose her again years later in Kill Bill (2003 and 2004). Throughout her career she was part of successful productions, but also of some commercial failures. This forced her to work in a wide variety of genres such as drama, science fiction, action, suspense and romantic comedies, having participated in films like Dangerous Liaisons (1988) or Gattaca (1997). She is a committed defender of women's rights and actively participates in several social causes. She was nominated for an Oscar, won a Golden Globe in 2003, and was a member of the main competition jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
