"If you don't try anything, you can't fail." The British actress, unforgettable since her performance in Titanic (1997), has proved to be one of the most talented of her generation. She began her studies at the age of 11 at Redroofs drama school in Maidenhead, debuted in the film Heavenly Creatures (1994), played Marianne in Sense and Sensibility (1995), based on the book by Jane Austen, but achieved worldwide recognition with Titanic, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, the highest-grossing film in history up to that time. After his success, he decided to move away from big productions and chose smaller but critically acclaimed projects such as Quills (2000). Participating mostly in historical dramas, he broke through with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), a sci-fi romance he co-starred with Jim Carrey. She has managed to charm audiences regardless of genre, and has been praised for her roles in Finding Neverland (2004), Revolutionary Road (2008) and The Reader (2008), for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress. Her role in the crime miniseries, Mare of Easttown (2021), is considered one of her best works, and the political satire called The Regime (2024) has also received very good reviews.
