Tony is currently in post production for his film "Solo2Darwin" which he co-directed, wrote and produced. He is also executive producer on the feature documentary "Sisters". His film "The Man Who Got Carter" about the life and career of his legendary father premiered in the last year and featured at several festivals. His fourth book, the novel, "Alsatia - The Search for Treasure" is set to be published in 2020 following the publication of the second editions of his books, "The Who and I" about the making of his film, "The Kids are Alright" with The Who, and "The Butterfly Boy" and "Under God's Table". Presently he is in development or pre-prodution on a number of films including "Reaper's Shadow". Tony was born in Hackney, London . At school he won writing prizes that led him to receive his first book publishing offer at 17 which he says he foolishly turned down! He entered the film industry straight from school and worked in almost every technical grade from projectionist through camera and sound assistant, gofer, runner and throughout the production department on shows such as the iconic "Avengers" and as a freelance junior editor with the BBC Wednesday Play and as Unit Manager with Searchlight Films in London's Soho who sub contracted him to the Ministry of Defence where he made Training Films for the UK military. . This took him to many countries as he went up through the grades while he grabbed every opportunity to make his own small films in more senior roles. He was spotted by his bosses who saw some potential in him and gave him very rapid promotion to major responsibility before he was 21. Presently Klinger is making the documentary "The Football Walk of Fame Film" and after which his third book, "Under God's Table" is to be published. He was recently commissioned to write the feature film screenplay for the best selling book "Just a Boy", the traumatic, ultimately triumphant life story of Richard McCann which Tony is also scheduled to produce. Most recently he was also the writer on "The Navegator" (not a misspelling!) 2015 saw Tony's debut as a playwright with "A Tired Heart & The Big C" was a critical and commercial success. Klinger is also a Founder / Director of www.give-get-go.com and www.pitchperfectprojects.com 2008 Tony premiere his film Full Circle. Tony has an international reputation as a company leader and hands-on executive and has served on many international boards, such as the Association of Media Practice Educators (AMPE) as National Secretary. As an academic he won many awards, including as a leading member of the team that won the Queen's Award for Education while filling various senior roles at The Bournemouth Film School, The Northern Film School and as Director of the Media Production Centre at The University of East London. Tony was born in London. Whilst still at school Tony won two national first prizes from sponsored writing competitions and together with some pals ran a successful underground school magazine called Fanfare. Between the ages of 18 and 21 Tony was making his own small professional films that received wide public distribution. Other than many productions that he was responsible for such as "The Festival Game" which was the second most played documentary in British cinemas and "Extremes" that was selected as "Outstanding Film of the Year at the London Film Festival". Tony also worked in media management as he honed his international expertise. Klinger worked on the iconic TV series "The Avengers" and in the following years wrote and/ or produced films all over the world such as "The Kids are Alright", "Deep Purple Rises Over Japan", "The Butterfly Ball", "Gold", "Shout at the Devil" and many more. His history includes working with a wide range of international stars such as Michael Caine, The Who, Roger Moore, Deep Purple and many others. Over a distinguished award-winning career Tony served as company President or Chief Executive for several media production, sales and distribution companies both in the UK and USA. Klinger is married with three grown up children and six grandchildren who live in the UK and USA.
