He is proficient in horseback riding, speed-climbing, dancing, karate, and numerous nautical sports, and performs his own stunts. From 2002 to 2003, he spent six months in the Caribbean, playing the lead role in a musical comedy he helped write for a theater on the island of Saint Martin. Besides his acting career, Erik Svane has written a book, "La Bannière Étalée," as well as the script for a graphic novel series (drawn by Dan Greenberg), "Général Leonardo" (two volumes so far: "Au Service du Vatican" and "Croisade vers la Terre Sainte"). He has written the graphic novel biography of Denmarks's Queen Margrethe II with artist Thierry Capezzone, "Daisy--En Prinsesse i Danmark", and he is working on several screenplays, including a western, a biography of Abraham Lincoln, a romantic action movie set in 19th-century Brazil, and a fictional account of an American unit in Afghanistan after 9-11.
