Leland Alexander was born in Colorado, but grew up and attended school in the small farming country of Maize, Kansas, which, at that time, consisted of very little other than farm ground, livestock, and dirt roads. Other than a love for hunting, fishing, and horses, school became a lifeline, especially for music and sports. After high school, he attended Butler County College and later transferred to Wichita State University. After graduating from WSU he moved to Southern California, where he currently lives. He once rode horses with his greatest idol, multiple Academy Award nominee Robert Duvall, having lunch with the acclaimed actor afterward. Mr. Duvall told Leland that "his friends call him Bobby." Has two brothers, Glenn Alexander and Greg Alexander. Glenn is a guitarist, singer, and composer well known in the music world. Greg is an excellent marksman and craftsman.
