After graduating from Yale University with a degree in philosophy, Marilee began her career in Europe, as Francis Coppola's philosophy tutor on the set of Godfather III. She also had a small part in the film as Michael Corleone's niece, Regina Corleone. She then worked in Italian TV as a director and development executive. Returning stateside, Marilee started her career as a writer in commercials, writing treatments for such directors as Craig Gillespie and Marcus Nispel, among many others. She has written primarily for film, but has also written TV projects, with former writing partners, William Stadiem and Charles Bohl, then later with Reinhard Denke through their production company, Mercury Media. Their most recent script, The Last Carnival, is in pre-production with Ace Norton and Commondeer Films. Marilee's first novel, The Tutor, was published by Rare Bird Books in the fall of 2019. Marilee is the founder of One Village Green, a nonprofit that promotes mental health and wellness in American kids through content creation, lobbying, and direct grants to families in need. OVG is in preproduction, along with Mercury Media's Meaningful Content, on Good Little Dead Robots - an exploration of the rise in teen suicide and overdose. She is producing Denke's Blacklisted script, Sex Greed Money Murder and Chicken Fried Steak, along with Amicus Films in Dallas.
