Yulyenette begun her career as one of the neighborhood kids on Plaza Sesamo. Her smile, singing, and dancing made her a favorite with viewers. She was also loved on El diario de Daniela (1998) for her cuteness, and dignity as an African-Mexican child trying to cope with others people's prejudices against blacks in Mexico. Yulyenette was the first "Mexican" of African heritage to get a big supporting role in a Mexican TV series.
