Rebecca Cook wrote and directed Velveteen Films' high def feature, Shooting Livien (2004), starring Jason Behr, Dominic Monaghan, Sarah Wynter, Ally Sheedy, Joshua Leonard, Polly Draper and Jay O Sanders, which was shot in New York City during the fall of 2003, and is now in post production. Currently, Rebecca has several other scripts in development. Rebecca also wrote and directed the 35 mm feature film, Chester Story, The (2003), starring Teri Hatcher and Andrea Powell, distributed by PorchLight Entertainment abroad (under the alternate title A Touch of Fate) and domestically through Outrider Pictures. Previous to this, Rebecca also wrote and directed her short film, Nipply Ray, and a low budget feature, The Gypsy Years (2000), both of which enjoyed festival screenings around the country. Rebecca graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor's degree in English and a Secondary Concentration in both Creative Writing and French. After college, she moved to Los Angeles to work with both Disney and ZM productions, in addition to working as a freelance script reader and associate producer. Rebecca spent a year thereafter in Boston as a researcher and assistant to documentary producer Charles Stuart, before moving to New York City to pursue employment with Sauce Entertainment. In 2000, she co-founded Velveteen Films Inc. with three other partners and presently resides in New York City where she still develops projects with the company.
