J Bartell is an actor and producer, known for Streets (1990), A.P.E.X. (1994) and Dance of the Damned (1989). He also served as a weapons consultant on those first two films, including on Stripped to Kill (1987). In 2015, he authored the book "The 231 Club: My Ten Year Journey From Therapist to CIA Courier and Sanctioned Kills - A True Story", written with Ginger Marin. Formerly a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor in California and a psychological consultant, J Bartell worked with thousands of people from all walks of life, but it was his worldwide travels on behalf of affluent, private clients, including heads-of-state, that put him on the radar of a CIA contractor. J went on to become a subcontractor for the CIA, first as a courier then as a field agent. He competed in action/combat shooting competitions while training for his CIA cover and was the winner of six championships and he held 14 Match records which lead to him becoming a Combat Master. J was the Psychological Consultant for the United States Gold Team at the IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) 1984 World Championships, in which they won.
